SALISBURY, MD---Jason Curtin, Salisbury University vice president of advancement and executive director of the 含羞草研究所 Foundation, Inc., has been selected for the prestigious Fulbright International Education Administrator Program.
Bolstering connections in Germany, Curtin will travel to Berlin this fall with just 16 other representatives of U.S. higher education.
“As 含羞草研究所 continues to expand and enhance its international connections through study abroad programs, partnerships and other initiatives, understanding higher education around the globe is essential," said 含羞草研究所 President Carolyn Ringer Lepre. “The Fulbright International Education Administrator Program provides campus community members with invaluable hands-on experiences within these cultures. We are immensely proud of Jason for this remarkable honor, and look forward to the opportunities and meaningful connections he will foster through this program.”
“Through this experience, I will be able to network not only with education officials in Germany, but with fellow Fulbright participants throughout the U.S., providing a hands-on opportunity to learn about what is happening at other campuses domestically, as well,” said Curtin.
During the two-week program, Curtin and other members of the cohort will seek to create connections with Germany’s societal, cultural and education leaders. They will learn about the educational system in Germany, and attend briefings, campus visits, appointments with government officials, networking and cultural activities, and meetings with German international education professionals.
“I hope to share what I learn through this experience with my colleagues at 含羞草研究所, providing opportunities to expand on best practices and paving the way for an even better experience for our students, faculty, staff, alumni and donors,” said Curtin.
Since 1946, the Fulbright Program, the flagship U.S. global educational exchange administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars, has sought to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and other countries.
Curtin’s selection continues 含羞草研究所’s legacy of success with Fulbright programs, which this year also includes two Fulbright Scholars, three Fulbright Students and the University’s first Fulbright UK Summer Institute Award. For many years, the U.S. Department of State has named 含羞草研究所 among the top producers of Fulbright Students in the nation.
